  Bill Wyman on the board
At the launch of his “Digital Album” in London, Wyman “ The “Quiet Stone”, commented “we’ve been aware for some time that new digital technologies and downloading of MP3 files on the Internet represent a seismic event for the music industry. But up to now it’s been hard to see how we could release our music globally in the new format and at the same time protect ourselves from the piracy problem. The “Bill Wyman MP3 Player” totally solves this problem. I’m very excited about this – in fact my mind is reeling from the possibilities.”

The Special Edition Album to be released on Wyman's Ripple Records label has been compiled by Karen Kearne-Moxey and Terry Taylor and comprises previously un-released material together with live performances of highly acclaimed supergroup "Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings", featuring talents such as Eric Clapton, Georgie Fame, Gary Booker, Peter Frampton and Eurthymics vocalist Beverly Skeete.

An attractive Special Edition Box the size of a CD case contains the tiny pre-recorded chip and the MP3 Player - in effect a self-playing album. Although only about the size of a postage stamp the tiny chips deliver better than CD quality music when used with the MP3 Player, which has no moving parts and gives up to 2 hours playing time. As a “worlds first” it is sure to become much sought after by collectors.

MP3.Ltd Founder and CEO, New Zealander Grenville Lee confirmed that the MP3 Player would change the face of the music industry, stating: “until now music downloaded from the Internet had two major problems - convenience for the user and copyright for the artist. There is just too much poor quality material out there on the Internet, no one is exercising quality control, and sifting through it is a chore most people won’t be bothered with. The Major Artists have been holding back from releasing their material on the Internet for fear of losing control. We’ve solved the whole thing with our MP3 Player.”
Lee went on to say “Working with Bill has been an absolute pleasure. He represents the best of the history of Rock – combining an encyclopaedic knowledge of its roots with a supremely talented group of musicians. I love it, but even better, my kids love it. I think musical quality always unites the generations. He’s also a pretty shrewd businessman!”

The MP3 Internet Delivery System developed by MP3 Ltd uses the most advanced form of encryption and allows Album Artwork and sleeve notes to be included. Although unlimited copies can be made of the downloaded audio file, a unique serial number is used to “unlock” the music. This is done once per playing device when making payment via the Internet. The system, originally developed by Phocis for software giant Autocad to control software licensing has a further benefit for Artists, by providing instant on-line access to real-time reports of all Album sales and royalties payments due.

The “Bill Wyman MP3 Player” which includes the Special Edition “Rhythm Kings” Album recorded directly onto the silicon chip will be on sale for £49.99 + VAT . It can be ordered directly via the Internet from:
