PCMCIA writer for MP3 player MMC cards

On the computer

• Use the CD that is included with the package.

• For all Windows operating systems use the setup utility PCMCIA.exe. There are 3 distinct  utilities within MPCMIA.exe.

          Important, if at any time, any of the three procedures asks you re-start the PC, make sure you DO NOT.

          Only re-start your PC when all three utilities have finished otherwise you will have to start all over again.

• Once the installaton is finished, Shutdown the PC.

• Insert the PCMCIA MMC Card into the PC.

• Restart the PC & the installation should complete automatically.

• There will now be 2 extra Icons on the desktop : - CDex & MP3Pro

• CDex is used for creating .WAV files from Audio CDs.

• MP3Pro is used for creating MP3 files from .WAV files. This program is the latest iteration of the MP3 standard which produces smaller MP3 files with enhanced audio.

• The portable player is capable of reading both MP3 & MP3Pro files. Both have a file extension of .MP3. Use CDex then MP3Pro to create your own MP3s from your CDs or get them from elsewhere. Some of the latest download sites can be found @ www.mp3.ltd.uk

• Once you have MP3s on your hard drive, they can be placed on the MMC cards for the player to use.

On the writer

• Insert the MMC card into the PCMCIA MMC writer attached to your PC.

• Use the Windows Explorer interface to drag & drop files to the MMC card.

          (In the example the removable Disk G)

• Remove the MMC card from the writer.

On the computer

•  Place the MMC card in one of the slots on the player.

• Press Play.
